We will schedule a free twenty-minute consultation via telephone or zoom.
If you choose to book a session, we will also engage in a brief intake session, where I will ask you some preliminary questions.
I'll send you confirmation by email, a client intake form to fill in and a reminder 24 hours before your appointment.

Session Attendance
Counselling and psychotherapy are most effective when attended regularly, with time between used to integrate sessions. In your first session we will explore ways we might work together. If you choose to participate in ongoing sessions, we will book your follow up session at either weekly, fortnightly or monthly interval.
Please be punctual and allow the scheduled duration of your appointment.

Rescheduling Appointments
If you need to reschedule, please give more than 24 hours’ notice so someone on my wait list can be offered an appointment.

Cancellations
I understand life can be demanding, however cancellations received with less than 24 hours notice or nonattendance will be charged the full fee.

Alternative Arrangements
If you are unable to attend your scheduled in-person counselling appointment, I can offer you a telehealth appointment via zoom or telephone.
Please note, I will need to be notified at least two hours by text before your scheduled appointment to set up telehealth session for you.

Confidentiality
All interactions that take place in the setting of counselling/ the therapeutic space are considered confidential. This includes all session content records and any progress notes that I take during your sessions.
The only instance where I may need to talk to someone outside the service is if I have concerns for your safety or someone else’s safety. When possible, I will talk with you before doing this.
Additionally, in order to ensure that I am giving the best assistance possible, there may be times when I consult with my supervisor about your case, however, no personally identifiable information will be used.
Please let me know if you have any questions related to confidentiality.

Medicare Rebates and Private Health Insurance
If you’re seeking counselling, you don’t need a GP Referral or Mental Health Care Plan. This means minimal wait times with appointments available sooner to help you access the best care when you need it most.
Medicare Rebates and Private Health Insurance Rebates are not currently available for counselling. Additionally, counselling sessions do not form a part of your My Health Records.
I believe mental health support and assistance should be easily accessible and affordable; as such, I try to keep my fees below the gap payment (your out of pocket expense) in relation to most mental health services (eg: psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists.).
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please let me know at the time of your discovery call and we can explore ways to support you, this can include concession rates for in-person sessions and accessing counselling services at a reduced rate via telehealth.
